Cardiovascular System

The cardiovascular system is composed of the heart, blood vessels, or vasculature, and the cells and plasma that make up the blood. The blood vessels of the body represent a closed delivery system, which functions to transport blood around the body, circulating substances such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, nutrients, hormones and waste products. There are three main types of blood vessel:
• Veins - the efferent blood vessels that return blood to the heart;
• Arteries - the afferent blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart;
• Capillaries - narrow, thin-walled blood vessels that form networks within the tissues.
Arteries branch and diverge as they move away from the heart. As they form smaller and smaller divisions, they eventually terminate in capillaries. By contrast, veins merge and converge into successively larger blood vessels as they move towards the heart. Capillaries networks are the site of gas, nutrient and waste exchange between the blood and the respiring tissues.

The principal function of the heart is to continuously pump blood around the cardiovascular system. It receives both sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve fibres which alter the rate of the beat, but they do not initiate the contraction. Instead, this is controlled by autorhythmic cells. Surrounding the heart is the coronary circulation. These blood vessels supply the respiring cardiac tissues with essential oxygen and nutrients and also remove metabolic waste products.

This is my statement which I will present on Tuesday, the student Angelica Gamiz Gonzalez 5 "A" del cbtis 130.

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis A is an infectious disease caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV) characterized by an acute inflammation of the liver in most cases. Hepatitis A can be chronic and cause no permanent damage on the liver. Followed by an infection, the immune system produces antibodies against hepatitis A and confers immunity against future infections subject. Transmission occurs through contaminated water or contaminated food and in some countries may be imported when traveling to high risk areas. The vaccine against hepatitis A is currently the best protection against disease.
Transmission
Hepatitis A is spread through contact with unsanitary areas or ingestion of contaminated food, for example:
• Eating food prepared by someone with hepatitis A, where that person has not washed their hands after defecation.
• Drinking water contaminated with hepatitis A (in areas of the world where hygiene and sanitary conditions are bad).
• By ingesting infected feces or urine (including only particles).
Hepatitis A is spread by saliva transmission and is not spread through sex, except when such anal intercourse or oral-anal sex.
Clinical picture
A person infected with hepatitis A can feel like you have flu or may have no symptoms. Symptoms of infection with hepatitis A are usually sudden onset and include right upper quadrant pain, jaundice (yellow skin and eyes) and dark urine. Other common symptoms include:
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Fever
• Loss of appetite and anorexia
• Fatigue
• Light-colored stools
• Abdominal pain
Treatment
Often, the physician administers medications to relieve symptoms such as pain, fever and malaise. The intake of sweets, especially candy, juice and ice cream appears to be used for relief of nausea associated with hepatitis
Recovery depends on age, overall health and medical history of the individual, how the disease and its tolerance for specific medications or therapies. Most people recover from hepatitis A infection without medical intervention.

Who gets chancroid?
Any sexually active person can be infected with chancroid. It is more commonly seen in men than in women, particularly uncircumcised males.
How is chancroid spread?
Chancroid is spread by sexual contact with an infected individual. The bacteria are more likely to invade the sexual organs at the point of a pre-existing injury, such as a small cut or scratch. The likelihood of transmission is greater if a person is very active sexually and does not practice personal hygiene.
What are the symptoms of chancroid?
The first sign of infection is usually the appearance of one or more sores or raised bumps on the genital organs. Sores are surrounded by a narrow red border which soon becomes filled with pus and eventually ruptures, leaving a painful open sore. In 50 percent of untreated cases, the chancroid bacteria infect the lymph glands in the groin. Within five to 10 days of the appearance of primary sores, the glands on one side (sometimes both sides) of the groin become enlarged, hard and painful. A rounded painful swelling results which may eventually rupture.
How soon do symptoms appear?
Symptoms usually appear four to seven days after exposure.
What is the treatment for chancroid?
Chancroid may be successfully treated with certain antibiotics. Lesions and ulcers can be expected to heal within two weeks.

Gastritis
It is called gastritis to gastric mucosal inflammation, which in gastroscopy is red, appearing in various forms of imagery in flame red or subepithelial hemorrhage. However, accurate diagnosis is by histopathology of gastric mucosa biopsy previously extracted from endoscopic examination. It is possible that only part of the stomach is affected or what is the whole gastric area. There are several causes, including poor eating habits, stress, abuse in the use of analgesics (aspirin, piroxicam, indomethacin, etc.) Or infection by Helicobacter pylori.
Sometimes no symptoms, but more commonly occurs is burning or pain in the epigastrium, with nausea, dizziness, etc.. It is commonly found symptoms related to gastroesophageal reflux, like heartburn. The burning in the epigastrium often give short-term food intake, especially milk. But two hours after ingestion, food passes through the duodenum and hydrochloric acid is secreted for digestion in the stomach, which causes the symptoms become acute. Abdominal pain may also occur in the top (possibly aggravated by eating), abdominal indigestion, loss of appetite, vomiting blood or a material similar to coffee beans, and dark stools.
Diagnosis is made through the upper gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that infects the human stomach epithelial mucus. Many ulcers and some types of gastritis are due to infections by H. pylori. In many cases, people infected never develop any symptoms. This bacterium lives exclusively in the human stomach, the only known organism that can survive in an environment as extremely acidic. It is a spiral bacterium (of this morphological feature derived the name of the Helicobacter) and can be "screwed" literally on its own to colonize the stomach epithelium.

Natural Killer (NK) Cells
and NKT cells

A small fraction of the lymphocytes circulating in the blood are neither T cells nor B cells. Most of these are called natural killer (NK) cells because they are already specialized to kill certain types of target cells:
especially host cells that have become infected with virus.
host cells that have become cancerous.

Features of NK Cells

The specificity of the receptors with which NK cells recognize potential targets are NOT diversified like the:
αβ and γδ receptors (TCRs) of T cells and the antigen receptors (BCRs) of B cells.

However, we do inherit multiple genes for NK receptors and these are polymorphic so that the repertoire of NK receptors differs from person to person.
Because viruses often suppress class I MHC expression in cells they infect, the virus-infected cell becomes susceptible to killing by NK cells. Because cancer cells have reduced or no class I MHC expression, they, too, become susceptible to killing by NK cells.
The killing is done by the exocytosis of granules containing perforin and granzymes.
Because NK cells are preprogrammed to recognize their targets, they are able to respond rapidly thus providing another arm of innate immunity.
In addition to killing target cells, NK cells secrete cytokines such as the anti-viral cytokine IFN-γ and the inflammatory cytokine TNF-α.

SKIN CANCER
Cancer is a group in which the body produces an excess of malignant cells that are know as cancerous cells, with abnormal growth and abnormal division.
Skin cancer is a group of disorders with diagnoses, treatments and different prognoses. All they have in common the same anatomic site: the skin.
The main risk factor for developing skin cancer is called ultraviolet rays from sunlight, producing mutations in the DNA of cells that accumulate over the years.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the population of white skin and in people over 50 years.
Ultraviolet rays from artificial sources of light, for example sunlamps, are as dangerous as the rays of the sun and should also be avoided.
People working in the street and exposed to sunlight must be protected using caps, hats and applying sunscreen creams.
This is the only way to prevent the development of skin cancer.

Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's disease is a neurological disorder that kills nerve cells in the brain. Typically, alzheimer's disease begins slowly and their first symptoms attributable to common old age or neglect. A far as the disease progresses, are deteriorating cognitive abilities, including the ability to make decisions and perform everyday tasks, and can arise from personality changes and problem behaviors. In its advanced stages, alzheimer's disease leads to dementia and eventually death.
Dementia is defined as an acquired deterioration in cognitive abilities that hinder the successful completion of activities of daily living.
Alzheimer's is a progressive dementia that has the memory deficit as one of its earliest and most pronounced symptoms. Usually, the patient progressively worsened, leading to problems of perception, language and emotional as the disease progresses.
Alzheimer's disease has become a serious social problem for millions of families and national health systems worldwide. Is a major cause of death in developed countries, behind heart disease and cancer. However, what makes this dementia have such a strong impact on the health system and the whole of society is, without doubt, its irreversibility, the lack of a curative treatment and the burden for families of those affected.
The disease usually has an approximate average of 10-12 years, although this can vary greatly from one patient to another

Table clinic

Alzheimer passes through different phases. The disease can be divided into three stages:
initial, with a slight or mild symptoms, the patient maintains its autonomy and only needs supervision when it comes to complex tasks. Intermediate, with moderately severe symptoms, the patient depends on a caregiver to perform daily tasks.
Terminal, advanced and terminal illness, the patient is completely dependent.
The most common symptoms of the disease are disorders of mood and behavior, memory loss, difficulties in orientation, problems with speech and cognitive disorders. Memory loss comes to not recognizing family members or neglect of normal abilities for the individual. Other symptoms include behavioral changes such as outbursts of violence. In the final phases deteriorates the muscles and mobility, and sphincter incontinence can occur.
The neuropsychological disorders in alzheimer's disease are:
memory: deterioration in recent memory, remote, immediate verbal, visual, episodic and semantic.
Aphasia impaired comprehension functions, naming, fluency and literacy.
Apraxia: constructive type, dressing apraxia, ideomotor and ideational apraxia.
Agnosia: spatial and perceptual disturbance.
The neuropsychological profile called triad triple a or aphasia-apraxia-agnosia.
Not all symptoms occur at the outset but they appear as the disease progresses.

Volution and forecast

The probable outcome is poor. The disorder usually progresses steadily. This is common total disability and death usually occurs within 15 years, usually because of an infection (aspiration pneumonia) or a failure of other body systems.

Treatment

There is no cure for alzheimer's disease. The goals of treatment are:
slow the progression of the disease manage behavior problems, confusion and agitation modifying the home environment supporting family members and other caregivers. (7,13,14) certain vitamins help to maintain cognitive function in thes

The flu
Influenza, commonly known as "the flu," is a highly contagious viral infection of the respiratory tract. Although the flu affects both sexes and all age groups, kids tend to get it more often than adults. The illness even has its own season — from November to April, with most cases occurring between late December and early March.
Signs and Symptoms
The flu is often confused with the common cold, but flu symptoms are usually more severe than the typical sneezing and stuffiness of a cold.
Symptoms of the flu may include:
• fever
• chills
• headache
• muscle aches
• dizziness
• loss of appetite
• tiredness
• cough
• sore throat
• runny nose
• nausea or vomiting
• weakness
• ear pain
• diarrhea
Infants with the flu may simply seem sick all of a sudden or "just don't look right." The flu discussed here is not the same strain of virus as the avian flu.
Duration
After 5 days, fever and other symptoms have usually disappeared, but a cough and weakness may continue. All symptoms are usually gone within a week or two. However, it's important to treat the flu seriously because it can lead to pneumonia and other life-threatening complications, particularly in infants, senior citizens, and people with long-term health problems.
Contagiousness
Spread by virus-infected droplets that are coughed or sneezed into the air, the flu is contagious. People infected with the flu are contagious from a day before they feel sick until their symptoms have resolved (usually about 1 week for adults, but can be up to 2 weeks for young kids).

I discussed was the topic of symptoms anemia:
Main symptoms that may appear in anemia.[4]
Anemia goes undetected in many people, and symptoms can be small and vague. The signs and symptoms can be related to the anemia itself, or the underlying cause.
Most commonly, people with anemia report non-specific symptoms of a feeling of weakness, or fatigue, general malaise and sometimes poor concentration. They may also report shortness of breath, dyspnea, on exertion. In very severe anemia, the body may compensate for the lack of oxygen carrying capability of the blood by increasing cardiac output. The patient may have symptoms related to this, such as palpitations, angina (if preexisting heart disease is present), intermittent claudication of the legs, and symptoms of heart failure.
On examination, the signs exhibited may include pallor (pale skin, mucosal linings and nail beds) but this is not a reliable sign. There may be signs of specific causes of anemia, eg koilonychia (in iron deficiency), jaundice (when anemia results from abnormal break down of red blood cells — in hemolytic anemia), bone deformities (found in thalassaemia major) or leg ulcers (seen in sickle cell disease).
In severe anemia, there may be signs of a hyperdynamic circulation: a fast heart rate (tachycardia), flow murmurs, and cardiac enlargement. There may be signs of heart failure.
Pica, the consumption of non-food based items such as dirt, paper, wax, grass, ice, and hair, may be a symptom of iron deficiency, although it occurs often in those who have normal levels of hemoglobin.
Chronic anemia may result in behavioral disturbances in children as a direct result of impaired neurological development in infants, and reduced scholastic performance in children of school age.
Restless legs syndrome is more common in those with iron deficiency anemia.
Less common symptoms may include swelling of the legs or arms, chronic heartburn, vague bruises, vomiting, increased sweating, and blood in stool.

Hi teacher i did my work on "David" by Michelangelo, because David is one of the greatest masterpieces of the Renaissance and one of the world's most famous sculptures.
It was inspired by the David and Goliath fight with as many versions as Donatello and Verrocchio in which David appears in the body of slain Goliath, but in the version of Michelangelo Goliath appears and shows David as a man muscular Unlike the other versions.
No doubt the details and perfection of Michelangelo's work makes a masterpiece that also has a variety of copies worldwide.
